Web3 Platforms Built a Metaverse Alliance
The metaverse and web3 platforms based on the blockchain have formed the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 (OMA3). The alliance was established by Alien Worlds, Animoca Brands, Dapper Labs, Decentraland, MetaMetaverse, Space, Superworld, The Sandbox, Upland, Voxels, and Wivity.
This alliance aims to address interoperability in the metaverse industry through four principles, namely transparency, inclusivity, decentralization and democratization.
OMA3 will be formed as a DAO and focus on specifics related to the metaverse and also intends to join the Metaverse Standards Forum — a joint forum of web3 companies, coordinating requirements and support for existing standards and developing standards relevant to the metaverse.
